A herniated disc—also called a bulging or slipped disc—occurs when the soft inner material of a spinal disc pushes outward and irritates nearby nerves. This can cause back pain, neck pain, sciatica, numbness, tingling, or weakness in the arms or legs.
Many patients are told surgery or injections are their only options. In reality, non-surgical spinal decompression therapy can be an effective treatment for many disc herniations.
• Sharp or aching back or neck pain
• Pain radiating down the arm or leg
• Numbness or tingling in hands or feet
• Muscle weakness
• Pain worse with sitting, bending, or lifting
Spinal decompression therapy gently reduces pressure inside the disc, which may:
• Decrease disc bulging
• Relieve pressure on pinched nerves
• Improve disc hydration and nutrient exchange
• Reduce inflammation and pain
You may be a good candidate if you have:
• MRI-confirmed disc bulge or herniation
• Persistent pain despite rest, medications, or physical therapy
• A desire to avoid injections or surgery
